Meet Our Team

Founder & CEO
Kara Rowe
Kara is an Emmy award winning producer, writer and editor. She has worked in communications for more than 20 years with experience in national, regional, and local projects. She has worked in agricultural policy and marketing in Montana and Washington. Kara's passion has been in people and making them care about the world around them. Kara’s experience in outdoor, agricultural, natural resource and history projects has made her a specialist in working through issues regarding people, food, wildlife, water, and land.

VP of Creative Strategy
Laura Meyer
Laura proudly devotes her career to celebrating conservation and agriculture through strategic communication and storytelling. She holds an MA in Environmental Communication and a BA in Film and Video. She previously served as Communications Director for the Washington State Conservation Commission where she promoted the state’s 45 conservation districts. She’s been a speaker and workshop leader for several state and national conservation organizations and offers expertise in strategic communications/planning, messaging, facilitation and design. Laura grew up in northeast Michigan and now lives in Iowa with her husband Colton and their long-haired Weimaraner Sylvia.

VP of Video Production
Kim Hogberg
Kim has a Masters’ Degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Montana and a Bachelor of Arts in History. For 20 years Kim has worked on a variety of award-winning documentaries, TV shows, and videos. Kim first fell in love with creating historical documentaries when she served as an associate producer for the critically acclaimed documentary Jailed for their Words: When Free Speech Died in Wartime America. Kim produced and edited the Emmy-nominated documentary An Alien Place, the Fort Missoula Detention Camp 1941-1944. She also was an associate producer for the documentary The Gamble and for seven years she has served as a co-producer and editor on the popular and Emmy-award-winning TV show Washington Grown. She partnered with the Extreme History project to produce the short film The Story of Us, The Women Who Shaped Montana. And most recently she collaborated with the Montana Historical Society to create a 60-minute documentary about the history and experiences of African Americans in Montana entitled, Hidden Stories Montana’s Black Past. Kim has a passion for storytelling and bringing history alive through the use of digital media.

VP of Operations
Sara Good
Sara has a Masters' of Education, Reading and Literacy. She spent 20 years in Southern Idaho and was the District Director for a collegiate student organization, Chi Alpha. Sara is passionate about leadership and professional development. She is trained in professional coaching and loves seeing others reach their goals and thrive in work and in all areas of life.

Sara loves spending time with family, friends, and her Border Collie, ZuZu Petals. She loves winter and being outdoors and is convinced that being in nature is where greater perspective in life is found.

Communications Director
Colton Meyer
Colton grew up on a century farm in Iowa and has been working in agriculture and outreach for over 20 years. Along his journey, he coordinated the Floyd River Watershed Project for the Sioux County Soil & Water Conservation District and served as an Environmental Specialist for the Iowa Department of Agriculture & Land Stewardship while continuing to help on his family's farm. He's passionate about working alongside farmers to improve both farm profitability and our natural resources and making sure their story is told in a meaningful way. Colton has received the Outstanding Watershed Award, Circle of Excellence Award, and the Watershed Coordinator of the Year Award (2019 & 2021) for his service to agriculture and conservation. In his free time, he enjoys being with family and friends, hunting, fishing, and exploring the great outdoors with his wife, Laura, and pup, Sylvia.

Media Buyer
Joan Poirier
Joan began her career at the St. Clair County Farm Bureau in Belleville, Illinois before relocating to Spokane in 1980. Her arrival to the Great Pacific Northwest was met with mounds of volcanic ash strewn everywhere from the eruption of Mount St. Helens. The soon-to-be recognized beauty of our region and the people who live here led to Spokane becoming Joan and her family’s forever home. Her career has expanded across 34 years of public service at Spokane Transit Authority, the City of Spokane and Spokane Public Schools. She then transitioned into the nonprofit sector and served six years as the Director of Development and Communications for Hospice of Spokane. At the core of all her work has been a strong sense of community and relationship-building. Listening to understand and appreciate each person’s story is Joan’s foundation for valued relationships, problem-solving, and strategic communications. In her role as media buyer, she is able to help shine the light on our clients, their work and the message they wish to convey.

Technical Manager
Ryan Rowe
Ryan has been working in video, photography and graphic arts for more than 25 years. An Emmy-winning videographer, Ryan has worked on national television programs including Eye of the Hunter and Montana Secrets. He's worked on Washington Grown, The Gamble, and many independent video projects for clients. he also has extensive knowledge of Adobe products like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere. In 2014 he won a Photoshop GURU award. At KRCS you can find him working on websites, creating workflow strategies, editing video and fixing gear.

Social Media Intern
Colleen McKinnon
Growing up throughout the U.S., Colleen has a unique appreciation for community and it's connection to nature. A senior at Eastern Washington University, she is studying Geosciences with a focus on climate science. Her passion for the outdoors and attention to detail make her a great fit for our team. She is learning the basics of video editing and social media while serving our client list. She has a fresh perspective that is invaluable.

Social Media Intern
Kali Rowe
Kali's love for farms, food, and nature comes naturally. Growing up in a farm family, she understands the importance of how our food is grown and its tie to the world. A sophomore at Eastern Washington University, she is studying Environmental Science. Kali is learning the basics of social media and video while serving our clients. Her unique point of view is beneficial to the team and our strategy.
